Looks at improvements in rail links in Scotland. Seen in Glasgow are several standard Greater Glasgow PTE Leyland Atlanteans with Alexander bodywork, led by what may be LA834 (SGA717N) and also including LA468 (UGA221H):
Footage of a service between Johnstone and Glasgow features Western Scottish 2150 (JAG503F), a Northern Counties bodied Daimler Fleetline. Note the route branding, and that the offside features the traditional Western Scottish fleetname, while the nearside has the then-current blue Western Scottish fleetname:
As 2150 draws away, it's replaced by a Bristol Lodekka FLF6G of similar age, 2438 (THN261F), new as United Automobile L261. Note the destination indicator, which is non-standard for Western Scottish. Many Lodekkas served in the Scottish Bus Group as replacements for Bristol VRTs sent south to English fleets: as part of a large vehicle exchange:
One more interesting vehicle is seen working Glasgow's Inter Station Rail Link Service. Greater Glasgow's S2 (XVU335M) was new in 1973 as SELNEC 1705 and operated briefly in Manchester before moving to Scotland. It's a Seddon Pennine 4. As it's seen on the road, two Greater Glasgow Atlanteans can be glimpsed behind, also a Scania Metropolitan:
