In 1958 there was a long strike affecting London Transport buses. The People's League for the Defence of Freedom ran limited services initially free of charge, then charging a flat rate, using a motley collection of elderly buses bought in for the purpose. Seen at the front of this line is former East Kent JG9934, a Park Royal bodied Leyland Tiger TS8 new in 1937:
