At the film's opening Tom Cruise leaves the army and goes to New York in a Greyhound coach. Geoff Cook notes: “When the bus is pulled over at the start of the film, the door opens to reveal the number 1548 on the inside door. As it pulls away from the stop, it looks like the bus is 1541! When it pulls into Port Authority Bus Station in NYC, the bus filmed is 1545(!). There are three other coaches visible but remain unidentified!” All three are from the same Greyhound batch of TMC 102A3 47-seaters new in 1986 (thanks also to Carlos Wallberg)
