Dave Farrier identified YYS174, the small bus used in 'Take the High Road' in the 1970s, as a 1960 Bedford C5Z1/Duple C21F originally MacBrayne 54. Malcolm Rennie confirmed: “The Bedford YYS174 was used when it was wearing black and white Western SMT coach livery. It used to run the Glendarroch and; Auchtarne bus service which was withdrawn in 1982 when the driver Maggie Ferguson married Sorry Watson and emigrated. The service was replaced by a Postbus which was a Sherpa minibus driven by Fergus Jamieson. Call me sad but I never missed an episode!” Alan Sinclair noted “The bus concerned has now been preserved by Stagecoach in MacBraynes livery.”
