(BBC magazine show, c.1948-1955?)
Pete Annells put me on to this intriguing reference; the November 1952 edition of 'Meccano Magazine' refers to the design by schoolboy J A Lowrie of a new double decker bus or coach, the 'Alba Bridgemaster'. This modern-looking vehicle featured a horizontal AEC engine and capacity for 66 passengers in an overall length of 27'8“ and height of 12'1”. Reportedly the design was examined by the British Transport Commission, and accepted for inclusion in the BBC programme 'Inventors' Club'. I've been unable to find much information about 'Inventors' Club', other than a 1955 reference that mentions it having been on the air for seven years.
