Engaging series fronted by Michael Portillo. The clue is in the title, it's about railways not buses, but a goodly number of buses turn up in the background. (thanks to Rob Sissons for his help on these)

A visit to Glasgow is punctuated by archive footage of Glasgow trams:

A street scene features a McKindless Dennis Dart/Plaxton with buses from Arriva and First, but only Glasgow Citybus YJ06LDU, a VDL SB120/Plaxton Centro, is identifiable:

A hugely impressive looking Neoplan of Worlitz Tourist is not clearly seen!

Archive footage of a line of London Transport Country Area T-class AEC Regals converted as ambulances. Rob Sissons drew my attention to this scene: “The lead vehicle appears to be T594 (EYK229) which eventually ended up with Chiltern Queens!” This is followed by a quick view of a London Transport STL AEC Regent:

In later times we see Mercedes Citaro artics, Dennis Tridents, then a Volvo B7TL/Wright and an ADL Enviro 400:
