The Galton and Simpson Playhouse

(Yorkshire TV comedy series, 1977)

A series of seven sitcom pilots by legendary writers Ray Galton and Alan Simpson.

Episode 7: Big Deal in York City
A tale of card players set almost entirely in a (studio-based) railway carriage, but bookended by railway station forecourt footage. At the beginning three Bristol/Eastern Coachworks buses in National Bus Company livery are seen at York Railway Station. The VRT is partly hidden, but across the forecourt are a Lodekka FLF and a late model MW. Andi Brigham notes that although in National Bus white, MWs were used on the city tour and departed from this point.: bigdealy1.jpg bigdealy2.jpg
