(London Weekend drama, 1979)
A 1979 Alan Bennett play, 'Afternoon Off', the fourth of a set of six, shows a Chinese waiter setting off to buy a box of chocolates for a girl. For our purposes, though, the interesting part is his journey on a Hartlepool Transport Leyland-National, one of a batch of seven (numbered 1-7) new in 1977, although the lack of dual purpose seating identifies it as one of the first five. The exhaust is very smoky:
Stephen Howarth identifies the location as Seaton Carew bus station.
