(1955 road safety film)
The legendary American hero comes to Kingston upon Hull to promote road safety. This entertaining short was presented by the Kingston-Upon Hull Road Safety (Special) Committee. A police officer plays Davy Crockett and the film was photographed and produced by the local police.
Davy ties his horse up to a bus stop, which leads to an argument with the driver of Kingston upon Hull Corporation 336 (OKH336), a 1953 Weymann Aurora bodied AEC Regent III:
…and 1945 Sunbeam W/Roe trolleybus 84 (GRH360) passes:
Glimpses of other Hull vehicles:
Davy and his horse encounter East Yorkshire 433 (JAT401), a 1947 Leyland Titan PD1 with distinctively domed Roe bodywork designed to pass under the famous Beverley Bar in nearby Beverley, with another behind:
He's also followed by another Hull Corporation bus, a 1949 AEC Regent III/Roe from the KATxxx batch:
This Regent III appears to be from the same batch:
….and we also see the contrast between the liveries of East Yorkshire and Hull Corporation:
